Devika "Dee" Johnson

Devika "Dee" Johnson (she/her) is a born-and-raised triple threat from Penticton, BC, Canada. She began dancing at the tender age of four at Okanagan Dance Studio, immersing herself in Ballet, Contemporary, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Singing, and Acting. Her dedication led her to take classes at prestigious institutions like Broadway Dance Centre and Alvin Ailey during her visits to New York City. Mentored by Lisa Stevens from the age of eight, Devika always knew dance was her calling.

Determined to pursue her passion, Devika moved across Canada to enroll in a Commercial Dance program at George Brown College in Toronto, ON. Outside of college, she honed her skills at Studio North, broadening her expertise and bolstering her confidence. Inspired by the art around her, she spearheaded a "passion project" centered on Mental Health, using dance as a medium for emotional expression and storytelling. Graduating from her Professional Commercial Dance program in 2022, Devika stayed connected with former teachers and continued her training at Studio North. Following the guidance of her college teacher Allison Bradley, she joined Dark Dance, refining her audition readiness and expanding her network. Devika is currently mentoring under Menina Fortunato with The Business of Dance, as a growth platform to build her brand within the industry. 

Devika's style seamlessly blends beautiful, powerful Contemporary/Modern with sassy, sensual Jazz/Hip Hop. She shares her passion and choreography by teaching at Studio North, captivating audiences with her stage presence, maturity, and storytelling abilities. Recently featured in Finger Eleven's music video "Together Right," she aspires to work on more music videos with renowned artists.

Though still in the nascent stage of her career, Devika is eager to undertake auditions, including cruise auditions, with a fervent desire to perform, sing, and dance on stage. Her strong work ethic, dedication, and reliability ensure she brings her best to every task, aiming to delight those she collaborates with. Devika's multifaceted talents extend beyond dance to acting and singing, enriching her performances with personality and depth. A creative mind, she excels in choreography and teaching, embodying a relentless pursuit of perfection, attention to detail, and unwavering determination.

With ambitions to grace stages worldwide, act in diverse genres of TV shows and movies, and ultimately mentor the next generation of artists, Devika is committed to continuous growth, forging connections, and fostering positivity in every interaction.
